As you have heard from the recent email, the AAG will not have a booth space at the Virginia Highlands Festival. The new director and committee have made changes to who can be considered a handmade craft. Only authors that illustrate their own book can be considered. The AAG will not be securing a booth space this year. If you have already paid for a space, please be patient with us as we get the refund checks ready to mail back to you. I am so sorry this happened. If you know of any other venues for us, please let me know and I will do my best to secure us a place there. In the meantime, please take advantage of the restaurants in place to sell books at NO cost to you. If we have authors take part, we will work on adding even more restaurants to our list.
We have a few restaurants in place that you can sign up to sell your books and hope to have a few more after the new year kicks in. However, we need our authors to take advantage of this opportunity in order for us to keep these places available. If you know of others you would like us to check out, please let Linda Hoagland or myself know. If you would like to sign up to sell books, please email Linda at firstname.lastname@example.org with the restaurant, day, and time. She will put you on the calendar and then send you a reminder when it is your day to be there. Here is a list of the restaurants we have available at this time: Picadilly at the Kingsport Mall on Saturday (choose your time from 11 am to 7 pm); Harvest Table in Meadowview on Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm; White Birch in Abingdon on Wednesday either from 8-10 am or 3-5 pm; Communications Cafe in Richlands on Monday or Friday (choose 2-3 hours between 7:30 am to 7:30 pm); Chicken Little and Zazzy's in Abingdon will begin in January. We will keep you posted as to the days/times for these as well as others.
